Tehran Symphony Orchestra launches tour in south of Iran

The Tehran Symphony Orchestra led by Iranian maestro Shahrdad Rohani has started a music concert tour of southern Iranian cities.

The Tehran Symphony Orchestra led by Iranian maestro Shahrdad Rohani has started a music concert tour of southern Iranian cities.

The performances launched on Sunday from the city of Asaluyeh in Bushehr Province.

“This tour aims to provide an opportunity for music enthusiasts in other Iranian cities to enjoy classical music,” Ali-Akbar Safipur, the organizer of the tour, told the media.

The tour will continue in the city of Ahvaz in Khuzestan Province, on Wednesday and will then move to the Arvand Free Zone on Thursday.

Shahrdad Rohani has led some prestigious orchestras in the world including London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Rohani has been the guest conductor for Minnesota Orchestra, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, San Diego Symphony and the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras.

Founded in 1933 as the Municipality Symphony Orchestra, the Tehran Symphony Orchestra is Iran's oldest and largest symphony orchestra.
